COVID-19

COVID-19

Due to the recent outbreak of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, we are implementing office safety protocols as required by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and by New York State to ensure and maintain a safe environment and to do our part to help reduce the spread of not only Covid-19 but other contagious pathogens as well.

What patients should know for their appointment

  • COVID-19 INFORMED CONSENT TO TREAT FORM: All new patients are required to sign this form prior to treatment. You can read and sign the form when you fill out your online paperwork.
  • COVID-19 PRE-SCREENING: Please contact us if you have tested positive for COVID-19, have been in close contact with someone who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19, or if you are experiencing symptoms including:
      • Cough
      • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      • Fever
      • Sore throat
      • Headache
      • Repeated shaking with chills
      • Recent loss of taste or smell
      • Body aches
  • CHECK-IN AND LOBBY: Please arrive no earlier than 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We practice social distancing in the lobby and throughout the office and would like to keep the lobby clear, if possible. If you arrive much earlier than your scheduled time, please remain in your vehicle until we are ready to see you. You can call our office at (585) 775-9955 to see if we can see you in earlier.
  • ENTER AND EXIT SIGNS: We have designated doors for entering and exiting which are marked with a green ENTER sign and a red EXIT sign to control the flow of traffic in the office.
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING: Only the scheduled patient will be admitted for entry. We kindly ask that all companions remain in the vehicle unless required for translation or physical assistance.
  • We ask that you wear a mask when entering the building and utilize hand sanitizer that we have provided in the reception area. All patients must wear a mask regardless of vaccination status.
  • We will take a temperature reading (no-touch forehead) and escort you to your treatment room. If you have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above, we will ask you to reschedule. It would be in your best interest to take your temperature prior to arriving at our office if possible, especially if you are coming from a long distance!
  • We will also be measuring your oxygen saturation levels and pulse rate quickly and painlessly with a pulse oximeter. A healthy range is within 95% – 100% in a minute. Readings lower than 93% are considered critical and will require a medical referral.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This may mean that you will be offered fewer options for appointment times. There may also be increased waiting/appointment time to accommodate increased infection control measures.
